Plain English, like everything else here.
Imperial Blinds Ltd ("we") is the data controller for this website. Registered address: [Registered address placeholder]. Questions or requests: [Email] or [Phone].
What we collect, and why
- Blind project and fabric shortlist — stored only in your own browser until you book or order samples. We use it to prepare your measure-up.
- Booking details — name, phone, email, address, postcode, access and parking notes. We use these to attend the appointment, send confirmations and reminders (email/SMS), and prepare the fitter's briefing.
- Photographs you upload — window, room or spare-part photos. Used solely to prepare your measure-up or identify your part; resized on your device before upload.
- Quotation and payment records — your quote and deposit status. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store card numbers.
- Photos in the visualiser — never uploaded; they stay on your device.
Our lawful basis is taking steps to enter a contract with you (your booking and quote), and legitimate interest for appointment reminders relating to that booking. We don't send marketing without asking first, and we never sell data.
Who we share it with
Only the processors that make the service work, only when in use: Google Calendar (appointment scheduling — availability is read as busy/free periods only), our email and SMS providers (confirmations and reminders), and Stripe (deposits). Each processes your data under their own compliance terms. Nobody else.
Retention
Booking, measure-up and installation records are kept for the life of your guarantee (5 years from installation) so we can honour warranty and repairs, then deleted. Cancelled enquiries are removed within 12 months. Ask sooner and we'll delete sooner, unless we need the record for an active guarantee.
Cookies & storage
The public site sets no tracking cookies. Your blind project is kept in your browser's local storage — clear it any time from your browser settings. One functional cookie is used by staff to sign in to the admin area.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing — email [Email] and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
